Unlike organic produce at the supermarket, in the world of IT green does not need to mean more expensive. In fact the cost saving from green IT initiatives like travel reduction through using video conferencing can be as much a driver as reducing carbon emissions. Savings and sustainability are inextricably linked.
Now I’m not a techie by any stretch of the imagination, but having experienced the benefits of UC first hand I’m fairly sold on the benefits it can bring. But if there’s no clear business case for the investment, is deploying technology for technology sake enough to get you sacked?
