Charity of the Year
Each year, through our Group-wide Charity of the Year initiative, we aim to support a national charity in its work by raising funds that are donated directly to it.
We encourage employees, as groups and individuals, to organise fundraising events throughout the year, while a network of 'Charity Champions' at our offices around the UK raise awareness of our chosen charity and co-ordinate activities where necessary.
During the financial year from 1 April 2008 to 31 March 2009, the KCOM Group's Charity of the Year is Brainwave, a charity that works with children suffering from brain injury, developmental delay or genetic conditions.
The aim is to help each child become more functional in their daily life and to reach their optimum level of independence, often beyond the expectations of their medical diagnosis.
Brainwave's dedicated and highly qualified therapy team train, equip and support parents through the challenges and joys of raising a disabled child.
