Charity of the Year 2007
During the financial year from 1 April 2007 to 31 March 2008, the KCOM Group supported Rays of Sunshine, an organisation that helps seriously and terminally ill children between the ages of three and 18 in the United Kingdom.
It does this by:
1. Granting these children's wishes however impossible the wish may seem
2. Purchasing equipment such as electric wheelchairs or hoists to make their lives easier
3. Helping hospitals, hospices and specialist schools improve their facilities
The KCOM Group and its employees raised over £36,000 for Rays of Sunshine in 2007/08 through activities that included Group-wide dress down days, a Valentine’s fun week, raffles held throughout the year and employee participation in a number of physical challenges such as the London Marathon and Race for Life.
