Kcom Gets the Call to Provide Voice Services in Scotland

06 Jul 2010

Kcom, part of the KCOM Group, has been selected by Procurement Scotland for one of just four places within a new public sector framework agreement. Participation in the agreement enables Kcom to provide fixed voice services specifically for Scottish public sector bodies

Procurement for the UK’s public services is managed through a series of ‘framework agreements’ with suppliers, which set out terms and conditions under which specific purchases can be made. Focusing on the provision of fixed voice services, this framework agreement will promote competitive tariffs for traditional inbound and outbound telephony, covering geographic and non-geographic call routing and associated network services. Kcom is now positioned to offer Scottish public sector organisations cost-effective, innovative communications and connectivity solutions - helping them to reduce expenditure and deliver greater value in the services they provide to the people of Scotland.

Kcom has a great deal of experience in providing technical solutions and tariffs that are tailored to the needs of local government bodies and emergency services,” commented Paul Renucci, Group Executive Director of Kcom. “Through our participation in this framework agreement, we’re in a strong position to offer solutions which are optimised for Scottish public sector organisations. We are committed to helping them fulfil their ambitions by offering flexible and tailored telephony solutions and intelligent network solutions.”

This framework agreement will establish a new standard for the quality and cost-effectiveness of fixed voice services provided to public sector bodies in Scotland,” said Ian Howie, Head of Procurement Scotland.

Procurement Scotland was launched in March 2008, with a remit to develop and implement procurement strategies which will meet the specific needs of all Scottish public sector organisations.
