Kcom presents at IDC's Unified Communications and Collaboration Conference 2011

Kcom, part of the KCOM Group, recently attended the IDC Unified Communication and Collaboration Conference in London.

The conference on 19 October, aimed at IT specialists, looked at recent Unified Communications and Collaboration developments. Sara Birch, Mobility Specialist at Kcom, presented her ideas to the 80 attendees and took part in the morning’s panel discussion.

Sara’s presentation looked at Fixed Mobile Convergence and without the inclusion of mobile into and organisations Unified Communications road map can they call their communications truly unified?

“The workplace has changed.” comments Sara“We always want to be doing more in less time and productivity is impacted by the lack of accessibility of mobile workers. Now employees expect to be mobile not only out of the office but also in and around the campus environment.”

She continues “In the future office employees will have to be empowered to work - anywhere, anytime, with any device being equipped with the right tools that allow their work processes to be adapted to any time and any place.
