Messaging
Improve your employees’ productivity with Messaging. We provide instant messaging for real-time Collaboration, as well as unified offline messaging using voice, fax and email.
We are vendor-independent – our first priority is to understand your requirements. Once we do, we select the best product to fit your needs. We use the best technologies from leading vendors, including Avaya, Cisco and Microsoft, so you can be confident we’ll deliver the right messaging platform for your needs.
Instant Messaging
Instant Messaging (IM) lets you employees share short messages in real-time, either with another employee or with an entire group. It works hand-in-hand with Presence, so that employees know who’s available to talk before they send a message.
Instant Messaging is relatively simple compared to other unified communication and collaboration technologies, but it has unique benefits:
-
It’s easy to deploy, even if you only have a legacy PBX. On the other hand, if you have a mature Unified Communications infrastructure, Instant Messaging adds a real-time dimension that email and voicemail can’t deliver
-
It complements other forms of communication and allows your employees to get quick answers. For example, if a customer is on the phone and has a question, your employee can keep talking to them and message another colleague for the answer. Your customer gets a quick response and isn’t placed on hold
Unified and Integrated Messaging
Unified Messaging lets your staff access all their offline messages using a single, consistent interface. It makes them more productive and responsive, as they don’t have to check multiple systems for their messages.
-
Unified Messaging systems hold all your employees’ messages in a single store, reducing system administration overhead
-
Integrated Messaging uses multiple stores, but let your employees view their messages using a single client
-
Messages can come from multiple sources, including mobile voicemails, landline voicemails, emails and faxes
-
Employees can access their messages from their desk or mobile phone, or from their email client - such as Outlook and Lotus Notes
-
Voice messages are stored as sound files, and can be translated to text using speech-to-text technology
-
Emails can be converted using text-to-speech, so your employees can listen to them on the phone
Conferencing
Improve communications and productivity, and reduce costs with our Conferencing systems. There are typically three types of conferencing:
-
Voice conferencing – traditional internal and external conference calls
-
Web conferencing – share data or applications for real-time collaboration
-
Video conferencing – enhance communications with video presence
We can deploy these standalone, or as a unified platform that lets users with different devices join the same conference. People will be able to participate using all of the technologies available on their device: video, applications and sound. So, for instance, a Smartphone user will see and hear everything, and a landline user will only hear the audio.
Conferences can be recorded for compliance purposes, or so others can listen later.
Compared to expensive traditional conferencing, our Conferencing portfolio saves costs. As part of a Unified Communications and Collaboration platform, it also offers much more functionality.
We can deploy Conferencing on your premises, as a hosted cloud service, or as a combination of the two. We use conferencing technology from market-leading vendors, including Avaya, Cisco and Microsoft, so you’re guaranteed quality and performance whatever deployment model you choose.
Communications-Enabled Business Process (CEBP)
Make Unified Communications and Collaboration an integral part of your business processes and applications with our CEBP services. Accelerate your business, reduce costs and improve accuracy.
Here are some examples of what we can do:
-
We can integrate Presence and communications into your desktop applications. You see someone’s name in a Word document, so you check if they’re online and then call them – directly from Word
-
We can streamline your CRM processes. A customer dials into your call centre, their information is displayed automatically on the agent’s CRM screen and the agent answers directly from the CRM application
-
We can speed up your sales processes and improve your cash flow. A salesperson needs management sign-off on discounting to close a deal. Rather than waiting for the manager to read the salesperson’s email, your Unified Communications platform tracks them down and calls them – automatically
CEBP speeds up your business by reducing human involvement and automating communications. It turbo-charges your existing processes and systems, delivering significant ROI and creating sustainable competitive advantage.
We have extensive experience deploying CEBP, and the right people to ensure it’s successful:

Unified Communications
Unified Communications puts intelligence into your communications and Collaboration infrastructure, accelerating your business. It combines many different forms of communication into a unified system:
-
Instant messaging
-
Mobile and fixed-mobile convergence
-
Computer-based telephony
-
IP telephony and physical handsets
-
Web-based collaboration and application sharing
-
Video conferencing
-
Operator and attendant consoles
-
Contact centres
We can integrate with your existing business systems and processes, and extend Collaboration to your customers, partners and suppliers.
Presence is at the heart of Unified Communications. By understanding what people are doing at any given moment, and what’s on their calendar, Unified Communications can make intelligent decisions:
-
When someone is in a meeting, calls can be diverted, except for urgent calls or calls from specific numbers
-
Messages can be diverted to another employee when someone’s calendar says they’re out of the office
-
Two employees can be connected automatically when they both become available
Unified Communications provides the following benefits:
-
Lets employees use any device, anywhere, anytime, depending on what’s most appropriate and convenient
-
No need to waste time contacting someone on multiple devices
-
Eliminates ‘phone tag’ by letting users know if someone is available and, if not, when they will be
-
Makes the components of your communications and Collaboration infrastructure work in harmony
-
Adapts your communications systems to the needs of your staff, rather than adapting your staff to the needs of your communications systems
We can deploy Unified Communications on your premises, as a hosted cloud service or as a combination of the two. We use technology from market-leading vendors including Avaya, Cisco and Microsoft. When you choose Kcom, you’re guaranteed quality and performance whatever deployment model you choose.
