Communications and IT services provider KCOM received competency accreditation from AWS for its expertise in consulting on, delivering and managing government cloud strategies.
The endorsement highlights KCOM’s expertise in the public sector and means KCOM is now certified by Amazon’s Partner Network (APN) as demonstrating technical proficiency with specific focus on helping government customers to define and implement their organisation’s digital transformation.
Achieving the government competency requires best in class consulting, architectural best practices and technology recommendations tailored to the requirements of individual public sector customers. In particular, independent auditors highlighted automating infrastructure, provisioning and continuous integration as areas of expertise demonstrated through KCOM’s work with both central and local government as well as NHS and emergency service organisations.
KCOM instigated its own third party secret shopper programme to test its customers’ ability to ensure the security of their customer data. This was highlighted by independent auditors as an additional layer of reassurance in public cloud capabilities ahead of new GDPR regulations next year.
KCOM is one of just three AWS Premier Consulting Partners headquartered in the UK. Each of its accredited competencies is validated every 1-2 years to ensure continuously rising standards for customers.
“It’s great to have our complex cloud architecture projects and the work of our public sector teams recognised in this way,” said Graham Masterson, Cloud Consulting Lead at KCOM. “Increasingly stringent requirements from AWS help us prove our skills in cloud infrastructure, architecture and application migration from which all our local and central government customers continue to benefit.”
It is KCOM’s third AWS accreditation – it achieved accreditation for Big Data in 2016 and DevOps this month – and secures its status as an AWS Premier Consulting and Managed Service Partner.
