Part of local life

In 2016 we refreshed our brand and KC in the Community became KCOM in the Community. We introduced a new visual identity for the business but the ethos and values of our community programme remain exactly the same.

For us, it's all about helping make Hull and East Yorkshire a better place to live, work and visit.

KCOM in the Community has three strands:

Inspire - We want to inspire young people and get them interested in (and excited about!) the future, while encouraging them to be the best they can be.
Involve - We’re putting local people first. This isn't just another company ‘giving back’. We’re from here. We live and work here. And we want our people to get involved in local activities and projects that make our region better.
Invest – We want to stimulate business growth in the Hull and East Yorkshire economy and help create new, sustainable jobs for local people by providing funding and business advice.
We've been allocating community grants on a quarterly basis for the past 10 years and these have helped to make a difference to local charities, community groups, schools and sports clubs.

But it's not all about providing funding. Our people regularly go out into the local community to offer their expertise and support to schools, charities and community groups. Volunteering forms a big part of our programme and it's something we're really proud of.
