It’s a high five for KCOM with national award nominations
KCOM has scored an impressive haul of five nominations at the prestigious ISPA Awards.
The Hull-Based broadband provider has been shortlisted in the Best Digital Inclusion for Industry, Best Sustainability and the Best Diversity, Equity & Inclusion categories at the Internet Services Providers’ Association (ISPA) Awards. This follows an announcement earlier this year in which KCOM had already bagged nominated in the Best Consumer Internet Service Provider and Best Enterprise categories for what have been dubbed the “Oscars of the internet industry”.
KCOM CEO Tim Shaw said: “We’re delighted to have been nominated in five categories at this year’s ISPAs. It’s quite an achievement and is an acknowledgement of all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to deliver a great service to our customers.
“We strive to empower our local communities through a wide range of initiatives including our Digital Inclusion Grants and it’s great that this has been recognised at a national level.”
ISPA announced the final, Best Digital Inclusion, category this week, shortlisting KCOM for its work in the local community promoting digital skills and empowering people across Hull, East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire online.
Last year KCOM scooped the ISPA Award for the UK’s Best Integrated Communications Category for its work raising awareness of its £17m copper to fibre network upgrade which is currently underway across Hull and East Yorkshire.
Further award category shortlists including for Best Digital Inclusion will be announced next month.
The winners will be announced on Thursday, 21 November, in London. Categories and further information about the awards can be found at https://www.ispa.org.uk/ispa-awards/
