Foster For Hull
KCOM is proud to announce that we are now to become a fostering-friendly organisation. This exciting development not only strengthens our commitment to supporting our employees but also reflects our dedication to making a positive impact on the city of Hull.
Hull has one of the highest populations of children in care in the country, and there is an urgent need for more foster carers. As an employer, we recognise the importance of offering our employees the flexibility and support they need to balance their work with the incredible opportunity of becoming a foster carer. This means offering additional time off for fostering-related duties, such as attending training sessions and meetings and providing a flexible working environment that accommodates the unique responsibilities of fostering.
Why This Matters for Us and Our City
By becoming a fostering-friendly employer, we are taking a crucial step to support our community and address a pressing local need. Hull Fostering is in search of caring individuals who are willing to provide a safe and loving home for children who need it most. Whether it's a long-term placement or providing respite care once a month, every contribution makes a difference.
Fostering is not just about giving; it's also about growth. Our employees have the chance to make a meaningful impact in a child’s life while continuing their professional journey with us. It’s a win-win situation: you continue to build your career with KCOM, and at the same time, offer hope, stability, and love to a local child.
Be the Change You Want to See
If you have ever thought about fostering, now is the time. Hull Fostering is actively seeking individuals and families from all walks of life to open their homes and hearts to children in need. Matching foster families to a child's unique personality and needs is their highest priority, but currently, there are not enough foster carers in Hull to meet this need.
We hope this campaign will start meaningful conversations and inspire many of you to consider fostering. Whether you are single, married, a parent, or an empty-nester, there is a place for you in the world of fostering. You don’t need to be perfect; you just need to be willing, patient, and ready to make a difference.
