Twiggy, or Dame Lesley Lawson as she’s always known, rose to prominence as a British cultural icon and teenage modelling sensation after being named as the Face of 1966 by the Daily Express.

Since then, she has gone on to a stellar career as a two times Golden Globe winner, a Tony nominee for Best Actress in a Musical, best-selling author and singer. But it is her experience helping to transform the fortunes of Marks and Spencer which will be the focus of her speech when she arrives at Bridlington Spa on Friday, 5 June.

Business Day, which is sponsored by KCOM, is the culmination of the 2020 Business Week and will also feature speeches by entrepreneur and campaigner Gina Miller, DIY SOS presenter Nick Knowles, Welcome to Yorkshire chief executive James Mason and former Siemens boss Juergen Maier. The seaside event will be hosted by former MP, broadcaster and all-round wit Gyles Brandreth.

2020 sees the strongest line up of speakers to date. This year we will have a question time panel hosted by Gyles Brandreth, a talk by Nick Knowles, and insights from Gina Miller. “Now in its fourth year, The Business Day is a networking event tailored to a day of discovery and insight. It has firmly established itself as the traditional end to Humber Business Week and I am looking forward to celebrating the best of business in Hull and East Yorkshire.
