I can't send emails when I'm away from home

This article will help if you're having issues sending email whilst away from the KCOM network.

Trouble sending emails on your phone or tablet?

If you can receive emails but struggle to send them, the way your device is connected to the internet may be the reason.

Why this happens

If your email is set up using KCOM’s settings and you can only send emails when connected to your home Wi-Fi, your device is likely using our outgoing mail server smtp.karoo.co.uk.

This server only works when you are connected to the KCOM network. When you switch to mobile data or another Wi-Fi network, emails may no longer send.

How to fix it

To send emails while using mobile data, you will need to update your outgoing mail server to the one provided by your mobile network. Your mobile provider will be able to tell you the correct settings to use. An easier option: Webmail If you would rather not change your email settings, you can always send and receive emails using KCOM Webmail by visiting webmail.kcomhome.com
