Electrical and electronic equipment is now the fastest growing waste stream in the UK and across the world. Recycling and reusing unwanted electrical or electronics can help save the planet, boost the economy and improve lives. Not only that, electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) contains materials, parts and substances which can be dangerous to the environment and harmful to human health if not disposed of correctly.
We take old electricals to a recycling plant for processing and separation into individual materials, so they can be turned into new, more useful things.
- If you are buying a new electrical or electronic item from us, such as powerline kits, we'll recycle the one you’re replacing for free. Simply bring the old item to our Carr Lane shop within 28 days, show us the receipt for its replacement and we’ll do the rest.
- If we provide a router for you to use on or after 1st August 2019, KCOM will retain ownership of the router. We will provide a lifetime warranty on any router we supply to you to use with the service. This means that we will repair or replace the router if it becomes faulty during the period you are taking the service from us. At the end of an agreement, the router KCOM has supplied must be returned.
Disclaimer: As part of this scheme we can only accept a like for like swap for the equipment you are purchasing from KCOM. We reserve the right to refuse an item that’s too heavy to be picked up by one person or for health and hygiene reasons
