What's on in February

Here are some of our favourite things happening this month

Hull’s legacy as the UK City of Culture is still strong, with some very exciting events taking place in the city over the next few weeks. Here are some of our favourites that we highly recommend you experience.

The international smash hit comedy returns! Lucky Eric, Judd, Les and Ralph are back and telling the tales of a Yorkshire nightclub. Of lads and lasses, sticky floors and shots galore, and the early morning taxi home, all under the watchful eyes of the Bouncers.

Written by the multi award-winning John Godber, this ‘80s classic will see the boys catapulted into the 21st century. With contemporary music and an updated script to boot, this one’s worth getting dressed up for.

Bouncers runs at Hull Truck Theatre from Tuesday 5th to Saturday 16th.

Peter Andre

A quarter of a century since Peter Andre burst onto the Australian music scene, the internationally acclaimed global media star is back with a 25-date tour of the UK in February and March.

During his time in the spotlight, Peter has showcased his diverse musical talent, releasing a dozen albums, all with a unique twist. The “Celebrating 25 Years” tour will see him encompass his musical journey through the decades, performing his best-loved hits from the early years all the way to present-day tracks that reignited the hearts of the nation.

Peter Andre is performing at the Bonus Arena on Saturday 16th.

The ruined aftermath of a bloody civil war. Ruthlessly fighting to survive, the Macbeths are thrust towards the crown by forces of elemental darkness.

The National Theatre, creators of the amazing stage adaptations of War Horse and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, take this epic and visually daring production of Shakespeare’s most intense tragedy on a tour of the UK and Ireland immediately following a sold-out run in London.

Directed by the National Theatre’s Artistic Director, Rufus Norris, and designed by Rae Smith, this new production propels Shakespeare’s classic title into a post-apocalyptic world of anarchy and uncertainty.

Catch Macbeth at Hull New Theatre from Tuesday 5th to Saturday 9th.

Dave Gorman

Dave Gorman, the man behind Dave TV’s hit show Modern Life is Goodish as well as Are You Dave Gorman? and Googlewhack Adventure, is back on the road with a brand new live show, With Great PowerPoint Comes Great ResponsibilityPoint.

As the title suggests, he’s bringing his laptop and projector screen with him, so expect “the King of PowerPoint comedy” to offer even more detailed analysis of those parts of life you’ve never stopped to think about before.

See Dave Gorman on Thursday 21st at Hull City Hall.
