Real fibre broadband connectivity keeping us close to loved ones this Mother's Day

‘Mother’s Day’ the blockbuster movie from 2016 is streaming on Netflix this month to celebrate one of the most cherished events of our annual calendar. The movie, which stars Hollywood favourites such as Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston and Kate Hudson, is a sentimental account of three generations coming together in the week before Mother’s Day.

Significantly, this Mother’s Day, on Sunday 14 March, marks almost a year since the first national lockdown came into force in 2020. However, thanks to the power of the internet, connectivity with our mums is still possible, albeit without hugs for now at least.

In an ideal world, we would be planning a gathering with our loved ones; hosting a celebratory Sunday lunch at home, or a pre-booked meal at a favourite restaurant to raise a glass to the most important member of our family.

For now though, and with the promise of spring and a lift of the Covid-19 restrictions just around the corner, we can rest assured that even though we are apart from our mums this year, our broadband connectivity has enabled us to keep our families close.

KCOM’s real fibre broadband delivers fibre all the way to your home so that we can enjoy fast and reliable connections and rest assured that video calls to our lovely mums will be clear enough to see their smile and enjoy the next best thing to having her in the same room. So, let’s make a virtual toast to our mums, safe in the knowledge that real fibre broadband will not let you down when you need it most, not just on Mother’s Day, but every time we need it (because we know how important chats with our mums are).
