Part two: resources for those working from home

Now we’re all unexpectedly spending a lot more time at home we’re going to need all the help we can get to stay active and entertained.

Luckily there’s a whole world of free online resources out there ready and waiting to be used and we’ll be sharing them with a series of articles for everyone in the family.

From health and wellbeing websites to cooking classes, mental workout apps and educational resources for the kids, there’s something for everyone during the coronavirus lockdown.

It’s time for part two, which helps those working from home. Click on the links below to find which online resources might help you out:

Working from home 

Working from home will be a new experience for many. These resources should help make it a more productive, less stressful, experience.

  • Stay in touch with colleagues with Cisco Webex, a videoconferencing software app https://www.webex.com/

  • Microsoft has announced it’s making the basic version of its Office 365 enterprise suite of productivity tools such as Word and Excel free for six months to organisations, giving users access to the premium version of Microsoft Teams.

  • RescueTime: The app allows you to track the time you spend on various websites, working in the background of your laptop, phone and tablet to show you exactly how long you spend on certain sites. Essentially, it helps you cut down on your bad browsing habits. https://www.rescuetime.com/

  • Trello is a website and app that acts as a real-time bulletin board, enabling you to organise your working day as well as your team. Visit https://trello.com/

  • Dropbox – a good way to store and transfer files or large documents. Users can save their files and share them with other members if needed to let them edit or add new stuff. dropbox.com
