What happens when a site is blocked?
When someone on your network tries to visit a website that’s restricted by your content filters, they’ll either:
- Be redirected to a blocked.eero.com page
- See a generic blocked page
In both cases, access to the site will be stopped, just as you intended.
Why wasn’t a site blocked (or why was it)?
eero is always working to improve how websites are categorized, but no system is perfect. If something doesn't seem right, here’s what you can do:
If a site should have been blocked but wasn’t:
- Add it manually to your Blocked Sites list in the app
- Report the issue via the blocked.eero.com page
- Contact us so we can investigate further
If a site was blocked but shouldn’t have been:
- Add it to your Allowed Sites list as a workaround
- Let us know so we can look into it
How to view content filter activity in the eero app
Want to see what’s being blocked and when? You can view activity and insights right from the eero app:
- Open the eero app
- Tap on the Activity tab
- Select Content Filters
- Choose the Profile you want to view
You can see trends and blocked activity by day, week, or month, and even view specific devices connected to that profile.
When will the activity graphs update?
Content filter insights usually refresh within 1 hour. This means you’ll be able to view attempted visits to blocked websites and see how filters are being applied—almost in real time.
