Thank you hamper delivered to 1150 colleagues

It’s been a challenging year for many people as they’ve had to adapt to new ways of working from home for the first time.

But to thank its employees for rising to the challenge and maintaining the high levels of services expected by its customers, KCOM has treated more than 1,000 employees.

The East Yorkshire broadband provider has teamed up with Gilberdyke-based hamper specialists Cartwright & Butler to deliver a thank you hamper to 1,150 KCOM colleagues across the country.

KCOM chief executive officer Dale Raneberg, said: “We wanted a way to thank our colleagues for all the hard work and commitment they’ve shown during the year so far under what have been exceptional circumstances.

“As well as facing different and unusual challenges, I’m very proud of the way our teams across the business have adapted to new ways of working, pulled together with a positive attitude and kept the business running smoothly.

“Buying local has never been more important, and as a company at the heart of the East Yorkshire community we wanted to show our gratitude while also supporting local business and keeping our spend in the area. It’s great to have a premium company like Cartwright & Butler based in the region and they have done a brilliant job of delivering the perfect treats to show our amazing employees how much their efforts are appreciated.”

The hampers came in a variety of options which staff could choose between.

As well as baskets featuring butter oat crumbles and cheese melts, with a bottle of Merlot to wash them down, other options included white wine and real Yorkshire ale hampers and also sweet, savoury, gluten free and vegan options.

Amy Foggo, Corporate Sales Manager at Cartwright & Butler, said the East Yorkshire business was delighted to be working in tandem with another long-established local company, especially to celebrate success in the face of adversity.

Amy said: “In response to such a challenging year, it’s great to see companies looking to reward and recognise their team’s efforts throughout 2020.

“When KCOM approached us to support their rewards plans, we were pleased to work with such a distinguished local business. We put together a range of hampers, all filled with our luxury teatime treats, and each hamper was delivered direct to KCOM employees’ doors to be enjoyed from home.”

Family-owned Cartwright & Butler began life as a cake shop in Beverley in 1946 and now employs more than 80 people at its Gilberdyke base, providing bespoke hampers and gifts for every occasion to more than 40 countries worldwide.
