The Hunt is on for region's top tech companies
It’s time to shine a spotlight on the region’s best and brightest digital businesses, as the 2019 Hull & Humber Tech Awards officially launches.
The awards, which are run in partnership by KCOM and Hull Live, showcase the region’s thriving digital economy celebrating everything from the best innovative start-ups to ground breaking names in global tech.
There are 11 awards up for grabs this year, including Young Person in Tech, Fastest-Growing Tech Business and Best Team.
This year will also unveil the prestigious Outstanding Contribution Award, for an individual or business which is driving the region’s tech sector forwards.
We’re delighted to be partnering with Hull Live once again to showcase the very best in the region’s tech and digital sectors. Hull’s reputation as one of the UK’s digital hotspots is truly deserved as it has become home to a flourishing tech sector, packed full of innovative and ground-breaking businesses. Underpinning this renaissance is KCOM’s £85m investment in its Lightstream full-fibre broadband network, which is now complete, connecting more than 200,000 properties across the region. This has put our region decades ahead of the rest of the country in terms of connectivity, positioning us alongside some of the most advanced tech nations in the world and enabling businesses to compete on a global level. The awards are returning to Hull's Fruit Market this year with the winners unveiled at an event in Humber Street on Wednesday, 2 October.
The 2019 Hull & Humber Tech Awards are also sponsored and supported by Arco, Wykeland, Arc Studios, Spencer Group, Hull College Group and Sonoco-Trident.
Entries are now officially open, with judging taking place in early September.
The 2019 Tech Awards will also this year coincide with the Humber Tech Expo at the Bonus Arena, taking place on 1 and 2 October.
