The star of KCOM’s latest ad campaign has visited Hull on a mission to meet “his massive head.”

Actor Patrick Jeffries dropped in at KCOM’s Carr Lane HQ this week after spotting a giant mural of his face on the company’s social media – and was determined to see it in person.

Patrick, who stars as ‘KCOM Dad’ in the latest series of “The power is all yours” adverts which are now showing on TV and cinema screens across the region, said it was a weird experience seeing huge version of yourself emblazoned across a wall.

“I saw the picture of my massive head on the KCOM social media channel, as people were leaping as high as possible to leave a post it on my face as part of your office Olympics,” he says. “I thought ‘I’ve got to see that in person’. I mean, how often do you get to see a massive picture of yourself in a stairwell?

“It’s very surreal to see – but I think it looks great!”

Patrick has been playing the dad in KCOM’s latest “The power is all yours” campaign since May and is discovering the power of KCOM’s new eero devices to keep his TV family connected in the latest ad.

“I’ve really enjoyed doing the campaign. It really has been a joy to do,” he says. “I know it sounds like a cliché, but the whole cast has really bonded together and really feels like a family. I’m looking forward to playing the dad for as long as they’ll have me!

“I had two goals this year – one was to a commercial and one was to do a feature film, and I’ve done the commercial, so I’ve only got the film to go now!”

While visiting Hull, the Wakefield-born actor also took time to visit KCOM’s mini-museum, set up to help celebrate the company’s 120th anniversary later this month.

He also managed to meet KCOM’s old mascot, Captain Karoo, which reminded home of the days he spent working at Euro Disney in Paris, wearing similar oversized outfits playing Captain Hook and Tigger.

As well as his ongoing role as the most broadband savvy-dad in Yorkshire for KCOM, Patrick can soon  be seen starring alongside Mark Gatiss and Daniel Mays in the 1940s crime drama Bookish.

The series stars Gatiss as an unconventional amateur detective who helps the police to solve a variety of mysterious crimes from his antiquarian bookshop. Patrick plays Mr Toovey the cobbler in the show which will be available on the Alibi channel in the new year.
